SEIU holds its 2008 SEIU International Convention on May 30 - June 4, 2008, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Ronnie Grant, CSUEU Vice President for Organizing, provided a scanned image PDF of the paper mailing he received about this. Below are some highlights from the mailing.
From the 2-page memorandum by Anna Burger, SEIU Secretary Treasurer, dated December 21, 2007:
As the convention approaches, please remember that the number of eligible delegates a local union is entitled to have seated at the convention is based on the average of the twelve most recent per capita tax payments received on or before December 31, 2007.From the "Key SEIU 2008 Convention Planning Dates for Local Unions":

In addition, please be mindful of the election requirement for delegates to the Convention. These elections must be conducted by a secret ballot vote of the members under the U.S. Labor Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA).

Can Ronnie tell us about his experience as a delegate?
My understanding is that only Pat and Dennis went. As far as I know they have not yet shared information about their Convention experiences with the Board of Directors or the membership at large. We may hear something this weekend at the scheduled Board of Directors meeting.
We do know that Pat Gantt was elected to the Board of Auditors.
