Diehr: CalPERS Board VP, Investment Committee Chair

George Diehr of CSU San Marcos has been elected Chair of the Investment Committee of the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS). He has also been elected Vice Chair of the Policy Subcommittee of the Investment Committee, and the Health Benefits Committee. He is a member of the Benefits and Program Administration Committee (BPAC). Last month he was elected Vice President of the CalPERS Board of Administration.

From the press release: "Diehr was elected to the Board in 2003 by State employees, including employees of the California State University system. He is a professor of management science in the College of Business Administration at California State University, San Marcos."

The CalPERS web site says the Investment Committee"reviews investment transactions, the investment performance of both internal and external managers, and establishes investment policy and strategy." The Policy Subcommittee of the Investment Committee "conducts an inventory of all existing investment policies, procedures, and guidelines for review by the Investment Committee and recommends revisions to these on a priority basis. It is also charged with developing a manual of policies, procedures, and guidelines, and a process for periodic revisions."
