Fullerton had a standing-room-only turnout of about 700 people at yesterday's budget rally. One speaker likened the proposed cuts to a guillotine:
Links:"Picture it – 1,200 fewer classes next year," Cal State Fullerton Professor Jack Bedell, chair of the anthropology department, told the crowd, referring to a hypothetical scenario in which the $18.1 million budget shortfall is balanced by only cutting classes for the university's 37,000 students.
"If nothing focuses our attention like a guillotine, this should. … Think about it. We need you to get your degree."
