Ronnie Grant, CSUEU Vice President for Organizing, sent out some membership news to the Board of Directors email list this morning:
So far, we have received 92 new members who joined by returning the membership application bound into the center of the Hudson report, including one unit 4 employee who received and returned the Hudson membership application.
We don't mail the Hudson reports, we give them to the SCO and they mail them. I have no idea why the unit 4 employee got it; maybe he got it from a coworker? Anyway, we will hold that membership app in the system; it's possible he now holds a 2/5/7/9 position and we won't know until next month when we receive an updated roster tape. Note the lack of a chapter assignment. If he appears on the next tape (yes, it's a tape from a mainframe!) then when the roster import works we auto magically assign him to the appropriate chapter.
You might receive inquiries about how to object or file arbitration against the calculation of the fair share fees. Please direct the fee-payer to call 916-326-4300, as CSEA Membership staff are the subject-matter experts on fair share fees.
Thanks,
Ronnie.

A list of the new members was attached; 36 of the new members are from Unit 9.
The Hudson Notice is the fair share fee notice sent to non-members in bargaining units represented by CSUEU. We don't have a copy of the current Hudson notice handy, but you can read a previous Hudson notice if you're curious.
