Controller John Chiang announced today he has blocked pay for lawmakers, rejecting his own party's spending plan as insufficient to satisfy a voter-approved law on timely budgets.

Right now, no one knows what the lack of a state budget may do to the CSU's own budget. The previous proposed budget, passed by lawmakers but rejected by Gov. Brown as "not cutting deep enough", called for $150 million dollars in additional cuts to the CSU.
